Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated HR Employee and Labor Relations Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will play an important part in managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting positive communication between employees and management. The ideal candidate will have experience handling employee concerns, supporting the hiring and termination process, resolving conflicts, and conducting exit interviews to help drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing support and guidance.
- Foster a positive and respectful workplace environment by addressing conflicts, promoting open communication, and ensuring fair treatment for all employees.
- Assist with resolving conflicts between employees and management, offering guidance on best practices and possible resolutions.
Hiring and Termination Support:
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and assist with recruitment efforts.
- Support the interview process by coordinating schedules, evaluating candidates, and helping select the right fit for the team.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws during hiring and termination procedures.
- Oversee the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews and gathering feedback to improve workplace practices.
Exit Interviews:
- Administer exit interview processes to capture insights from departing employees.
- Review exit interview data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to HR leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in HR, particularly in employee and labor relations.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, company policies, and best practices in employee relations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with employees and managers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Experience with HRIS or other HR management software is a plus.
